A RARE .36 PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT REVOLVING RIFLE, MODEL '1855 FIRST MODEL SPORTING RIFLE', serial no. 442,
for between 1856-59, with possibly shortened 21in. two-stage barrel, the top-flat signed 'COLTS PT' over '1856' alongside 'ADDRESS COL COLT' over 'HARTFORD CT. USA', dovetailed fore-sight, elevating rear-sight inlet into top-strap, solid frame with side-hammer, plain cylinder (devoid of scene), walnut straight-hand butt-stock (repaired at toe), iron furniture including trigger-guard bow with spurred front and rear tangs, articulated under-barrel loading lever, oiler device mounted to the left hand side and barrel mounted full length cleaning rod (possibly factory), some screws replaced, some shallow pitting and some heavy cleaning to action and cylinder
Other Notes: Only 1,000 of these rifles in all variants were produced. Rifles with 21in. barrels are recorded.
